lost in alternia

I’m going through my iTunes library and man is it *embarrassing* to see all the weird music I bought when I was, like, eleven and first discovering the ~magical world of iTunes~. Bow down to the Apple gods.

It just goes with the whole “going through fandoms at the speed of light” thing—you fall into and out of different stuff at different points in your life. Like with clothes. I definitely dress differently than I did in, say, middle school. Which is a good thing. For everyone.

Really, though. I went to a weird charter school from kindergarten all the way to the end of fourth grade, and I always wore uniforms to school. When I was let loose into the Super Scary Public School System, I found out I didn’t have to wear these gross navy blue and white uniforms anymore…and five years of clothing creativity unleashed itself all at once. The results were not pretty, to say the least. But I think I liked what I wore at the time. *snort*

I think everyone looks back at what they wore “before” and feels that inexplicable desire to slap the past version of themselves as hard as possible (or izit just me, lol). How could I not when I wore…barf pink tank tops with matching capris with those glasses and that hair? Excuse me while I go throw up. Sorry, Past Me.

At the time, though, I liked it. Which is comforting, in a way. ☆ ☻
